30 in 30 – Clippers

LA Clippers

One of the biggest offseason questions was whether the Clippers are a super team. We will have to wait and see.

They have the players, but they lack that spark to push themselves over the line.

Their draft day saw them select big man Brice Johnson out of Orangeburg during his time there he averaged 17 points, 10.4 rebounds and 1.5 blocks. Good numbers for a man as low down as 25th overall.

He won’t get a lot of minutes due to the Clippers calibre of players in centre and power forward positions but Johnson looks almost a steal so low down.

The Clippers have added Mo Speights to their roster. The centre/forward joins from the Warriors and the 6 ft 8 big has a gorgeous jump shot and is an outside threat too.

Keeping hold of Jamal Crawford is one of the best pieces in the NBA this off season – the three time Sixth Man of the Year offers something special.

Watch out for – Austin Rivers – scoring threat

Their projected starting five of Paul, Reddick, Pierce, Griffin and Jordan is good enough to get to the Finals if not win it but they just lack that cutting edge.
