The Celtics’ genius move to get the number three pick has set them up for a great season this year.
Taking Jaylen Brown at three was strange when Kris Dunn was still available but Brown offers something that the Celtics don’t have.
He averaged five rebounds and 15 points in 27 minutes of action in college. Though the stats may not set the league on fire, the forward is NBA ready and his athleticism is second to none.
At 16 and 23 the Celtics took Guerschon Yabusele and Ante Zizic, respectively. The forward/centre positions were somewhere where the Celtics are well loaded. This may result in these two player’s minutes being restricted and being more of draft and stash.
The Celtics have been aiming to bring an all-star forward to Boston for as long as I can remember and after loosing out on Kevin Durant the signing of Al Horford was somewhat a relief for fans.
Horford is a better screener and scorer than most on their current roster and will add another dimension to their game.
Watch out for – Terry Rozier – creative option
The final piece in the Boston jigsaw is in and they know they will go far.
