30 in 30 – Hawks

Atlanta Hawks

The Hawks have had a decent off season which leaves them in a similar position to this time last year.

Adding Dwight Howard to their roster will give a threat in the paint and a scarier appearance on defence.

But, all depends his attitude.  Howard is controversial but his talented is undoubted.

They have the veteran scoring option of Kyle Korver and their new starting point guard, Dennis Schroder, is a good shooter and sees the floor well. There is no doubt that the German raring to go.

Their pick was at number 21 where the Hawks took DeAndre’ Dembry. The small forward out of Saint Joesph’s spent three years at college and has impressed. He had averages of 17.5 points per game, 1.4 steals, 4.5 assists and 7.6 rebounds.

Trading Jeff Teague off the roster enabled the Hawks to the Jazz’s draft pick at number 12 where they took Taurean Prince. The small forward averaged 16 points, six rebounds and over a steal per game last year at Baylor.

Watch out for –  Tim Hardaway Jr. – decent jump-shot

Building on a decent season last year was never going to be easy but the Hawks have done that with a mixture of youth and experience.
