The Grizzlies main move this offseason was tying down point guard Mike Connley to the NBA’s most expensive contract. The 28 year old signed a five year contract at $152,605,576 after averaging just 15 points and six assists.
The Grizzlies’ draft was first class, at number 17 they took guard Wade Baldwin and at number 31 they took forward Deyonta Davis.
Baldwin will add great defence due to his size and his ability to shoot and score from anywhere will make him a key piece this year.
Davis was a great shock for the Grizzlies to be so low down and after a draft day trade with the Celtics the Grizzlies GM said this:
Quite frankly, in our wildest dreams we never thought Deyonta Davis would be there at 31.
Their other two draft picks in the shape of Rade Zagorac and Wang Zhelin will be stashed and their development will be monitored.
The Grizzlies’ scoring threat will be added to by the signing of Chandler Parsons. The forward is a threat inside and outside.
Watch out for – Tony Wroten – creative guard
The Grizzlies were good last year and have strengthened add a greater threat inside and outside.
