Chicago’s draft pick came in the shape of Denzel Valentine, a scoring guard/forward out of Michigan State. Valentine had an impressive summer league with the Bulls and proved his scoring ability with numerous clutch moments.
His game time may be limited, however, as the Bulls boast the signings of creative point guard Rajon Rondo, shooting guard and Chicago native Dwayne Wade and Isaiah Canaan who will demand minutes. Along with this trio the Bulls kept hold of Jimmy Butler who may slot in at small forward – reluctantly.
Seeing Derrick Rose leave hurt but every time he went for a layup in traffic there was always that anticipation of whether he would get up again. And at the wage he is on, it is not worth the risk.
Loosing Pau Gasol, after averaging a double-double, will also hurt the Bulls on both ends but it looks like Holberg is willing to put his trust into the cheaper trio of Lopez, Portis and Gibson.
Watch out for – Bobby Portis – scoring threat
At first this coming season looked to be bleak but adding Wade and Rondo means that the Bulls should get a playoff birth.
