New Orleans Pelicans
I was amazed by Buddy Hield’s last year in college. And I was equally amazed no one took him third, fourth or fifth.
The Pelicans are going to get instant offence from Hield, who had an shooting percentage of over 50% and 46% from three point range in his last year of college.
In college Steph Curry shot 44% from three point range. It would be unfair to pressure Hield with the Curry comparisons.
Along with the selection of Hield the Pelicans also took Cheick Diallo who was a big surprise in the second round, though we may have to wait to see his impact on the court.
The Pelicans didn’t turn up at all last year, their star forward Anthony Davis was their only real cause for cheer. He is joined this year by E’Twaun Moore, who joins from the Bulls. A talented ball defender and good handler, the guard averaged 12 point, three assists and three rebounds last year with the Bulls.
Watch out for – E’Twuan Moore – breakthrough year.
Buddy Hield, Solomon Hill and E’Twuan Moore all offer good options outside and on defence, which is the main point of emphasis missing last year.
